Welcome to the new U.S. Attorney for Nevada

Sigal Chattah of Las Vegas was sworn in April 1, 2025.

As Interim United States Attorney, Ms. Chattah supervises all federal criminal prosecutions and civil litigation involving federal interests in the District of Nevada. She leads a dedicated team of over 100 prosecutors and support professionals with offices located in Las Vegas and Reno.

Prior to joining the United States Department of Justice, Ms. Chattah opened her own law practice Chattah Law Group in Las Vegas. From 2005 to 2009, Ms. Chattah taught Political Science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).
Ms. Chattah received her J.D. from Widener University School of Law in Pennsylvania, and her B.S. in Political Science from UNLV.

How To Comment

Following are specific rules that apply to written and oral comments depending on state, county, or city. See below.

Be advised that your public comments become part of a permanent record. Oral comments are transcribed and put into the minutes of the meeting. Discretion is the better part of valor when making comments.

Comment in-person: For example, the Legislative Operations & Elections Committee, Room 3137 of the Legislative Building, 401 South Carson Street, Carson City, NV.

Videoconferenced to Room 3 of the Nevada Legislature Hearing Rooms, 7120 Amigo Street, Las Vegas, NV.

If you have printed materials to share, bring ten (10) copies.

Comment by telephone: To provide public comment or testimony telephonically, dial (888) 475-4499 on the date of the meeting. When prompted, provide Meeting ID [11-digit numerical code] and then press #. When prompted for a Participant ID, press #.

Public comment may be limited to not more than two (2) minutes. Call (775) 684-1300 for assistance.

Note: Click Share Opinion and a window pops up that allows you to offer your comment on the Submit Your Opinion tab and also to see comments from other people on the Public Opinion tab.

Note: On the bill’s page, click on Exhibits, even if it numbers 0, and see if there are amendments, presentations, and comments. These items may give you insight for you to make your own comments.

Call, mail, or email a legislator: Senate or Assembly

For a committee for example, the Assembly Legislative Operations & Elections Committee, written testimony, and other documents for the record must be submitted electronically in PDF format to:AsmLOE@asm.state.nv.us, 24 hours before the meeting date unless waived by the Chair. These instructions are in the agenda.

Emailed public comment must be received by 3:00 PM on [date] to be included with the agenda packet.

Emailed public comment will be entered into the record but will not be read aloud during the meeting.
